What’s you favourite Chinese/Vietnamese/Korean/Japanese festival?

Hey everyone! Today is Qingming Festival (Tomb Sweeping Day) in China :tada:

What’s you favourite Chinese/Vietnamese/Korean/Japanese festival?

I’ve always thought that Dragon Boat Festival is sooo fascinating!

Most fascinating to me but probably not as widely celebrated in Chinese bigger cities anymore is Hungry Ghost festival (中元节). Loved walking through the hutongs of Beijing and watch people burn their offerings.

However, Spring Festival is probably my favorite. The cheery atmosphere of people getting a couple of days off and visiting their loved ones always gets me - and I’m a sucker for red and gold decoration, hehe.

I was lucky enough to be in Beijing during Chinese New Year in 2015, my neighbours invited me to dinner, there were lots of food on the table and everyone was incredibly welcoming, even though I couldn’t really speak Chinese at that time! Fireworks were still allowed in the city then, so watching it from our 26th floor was amazing, it’s a very dear memory now!
