Korean Words and Phrases for Restaurants 🍜

If you’re in Korea or planning a trip soon, knowing some basic Korean for restaurants can make your dining experience smoother and even more fun. Whether you’re at a BBQ joint, a cozy noodle spot, or a fancy café, here are some essential Korean words and phrases you’ll want to remember:

음식 (eumsik) food
메뉴 (menyu) menu
물 (mul) water
밥 (bap) rice (often means “meal” in general!)
반찬 (banchan) side dishes
고기 (gogi) meat
계산 (gyesan) bill/payment

:sparkles: Some restaurants use bells at the table to call staff. Otherwise, you can say “저기요!” (Jeogiyo!) politely to get their attention.
