Actually this isn’t just relevant to Italian, but any language in general.
I’d be intrigued to hear people’s thoughts on how long it takes to learn a language.
My background with my two main languages.
How long it takes to learn Chinese || it took me two years of living in China, immersing myself at LTL school and taking lessons to feel like I’d nailed it. Whilst I’ll never claim to be fluent, it took two years to get to that stage of conversational fluency.
How long it takes to learn Italian || my Italian is weaker than my Chinese, and this is why I asked the question. I’m somewhere between A2 and B1 right now but I’m quite weak with grammatical accuracy (see the image below to see an example of why grammar does my head in!).
Does anyone have a strong level of Italian and can help impart some wisdom?
