How do you balance live speaking practice with solo vocabulary study?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been refining my daily language routine lately and wanted to hear how other students here structure their learning time.
Booking live sessions through Flexi Classes is fantastic for breaking the speaking barrier and getting real-time correction, but I often find myself wondering what the most efficient split is between attending live classes and doing independent study (like review decks, reading, or grammar drills).
Right now, I try to spend about 30 minutes reviewing notes and vocabulary immediately after a session, but some weeks it feels harder to retain everything without falling behind on new topics.
For those of you taking classes regularly:

  1. How much time do you typically spend prepping before or reviewing after each class?
  2. Do you prefer using digital flashcards (like Anki) for new words, or do you rely mostly on re-reading lesson slides and speaking repetition?
Would love to hear what study routines and habits have worked best for you!

I study twice a week and usually spend 1–2 hours reviewing on the weekend. I don’t use a flashcard app. Instead, I review by typing all the new words, their meanings, example sentences, and dialogues on my computer again to help me recognize Hanzi. But this method is not sutable for those who want to learn handwriting as it’s not possible to remember each stroke but for me it’s fine. I only need to read and type, don’t need to write by hand
