thanks a lot for bringing this up. So far nobody else has reported the problem of not being able to see parts of the pdfs due to not having the fonts installed. So for the moment I think it is ok the way it is.
In case other people encounter the same problem (if anyone does or did, please post here) then we might need to include a download link.
We use Google fonts, which are free license and very widely used, so usually most peoples devices can read them
Just wanted to say, I find the font used in HSK4+ T252 sometimes difficult to read, I’m not used to seeing this sort of thing. For instance:
Also, some of the new words aren’t in the HSK4+ vocab list, as I’ve learnt all of them already on Hackchinese. Some of the new words aren’t actually included on any HSK lists, like 运费,污渍, 输赢,尺码. I really don’t mind learning new words, but I thought these lessons were aimed at working through HSK levels?
I think this is the 明体 font style, as opposed to 楷体 more commonly used in textbooks. You can try substituting fonts, if your PDF viewer allows it (e.g. the paid version of Adobe Acrobat), or copying and pasting the text to another app.
They’re really not. There are some similarities with the “official” Hanban HSK curriculum, but generally, LTL tries to be much more practical with lots of emphasis on speaking (and having fun!).
I believe we are using the Google Font on Mandarin pdf s because it is free license and everyone can use it. That 门 indeed looks strange. Can you check @Tram
