If your name is Steven, would you introduce yourself as ‘Esteban’ if you were talking to Spanish speakers?

I actually use my Chinese name pretty regularly! 涵涵 (Hán hán) was even adopted by my non-Chinese speaking classmates at university
Also whenever I go to a dentist/doctor etc in Taipei, they use my Chinese name too
Haha that’s a good way to find English name that also works with Chinese name!
I love telling Spanish people my name just to see their faces.
Pascale in Spanish, and in Italian, sounds really horrible. It’s too close to the masculine Pascual, which apparently isn’t a very nice name, even for a boy.
I remember Italians who decided to call me Dominique in the end. They just couldn’t cope with Pascaaaale/Pascual.
Marine is not easy to say for a lot of people I meet so I introduce myself with the English pronunciation. Depending on the speaker, I can also add “Marina” with the rolled r if it easier for them to pronounce
That is so interesting as I do have a friend whos name is Pascal and he hates it too. He usually tells people his name its Patty especially in Taipei as it is easier that way for everyone
