Discord Channel for studying together

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone would be interested or even knows about any Discord Channel for people who want to study Chinese together?

My level is somewhere around HSK 4 and I am looking for ways to get myself into regular learing, and from my uni-days I remember that it worked way better together with other students.
Since location wise that might be an issue, I thought about other ways and I think Discord could be an option.

There could be 3 ways to benefit from it:

  • scheduled practice sessions where we discuss material from some lessons (should be defined beforehand) - here we really work together on one topic, maybe do exercises and discuss our ideas
  • scheduled alone-together practie - just some time where we all do our own pracitces from writing to reading to grammar, and can ask for support, but mostly just work in parallel and hold each other accountable
  • Chat for support and exchange - well there is always that

What do you think about that?
Would you be interested in that or even know something like it?

The study community idea sounds awesome, especially the idea of the alone-together practice, would stop me from getting lazy :laughing: I’m not sure about Discord as I don’t really use it, but if you’re on Reddit there’s a few subreddits for studying Chinese, including the LTL one https://www.reddit.com/r/LTL_Chinese/ :slight_smile:

LTL has a Discord with various language channels for students to meet and chat about all things language learning - LTL Language School

There is also a private “Students Room” for Flexi Classes students to share tips and organise classes together.

The chat has become a bit quiet over the winter holidays but it could be a good start :smiling_face:
