5 Japanese Words and Phrases for Restaurants 🍜

Konnichiwa! I wanted to share some useful Japanese words and phrases for restaurants. These are my top 5:

:raised_hands: いっらしゃいませ (irrashaimase) – β€œWelcome!” You’ll hear this a lot when entering!

 ___ をください (___ o kudasai) – β€œ___ please.” This is probably the most useful phrase you’ll learn. It’s great for ordering drinks, food and asking for things like the menu or check. E.g.:
γŠδΌšθ¨ˆγ‚’γγ γ•γ„γ€‚ (okaikei o kudasai.) Please give me the check.
パニγƒ₯ーをください。 (menyuu o kudasai.) Please give me the menu.

:+1: γŠγ™γ™γ‚γŒγ‚γ‚ŠγΎγ™γ‹? (osusume ga arimasu ka) – β€œDo you have any recommendations?” - if you’re unfamiliar with certain types of food or restaurants, this can be a useful hack.

 ___ ζ”Ύι‘Œ (___ houdai) – β€œAll you can ___.” Look out for all-you-can-eat or drink deals!

:one: ε˜ε“ (tanpin) – β€œIndividual item.” Useful when you don’t want to order an entire set.

Great share, Hannah

Very useful. My office is in Japan town where has lots of japanese restaurants and bars opened by Japanese. They all speak Japanese there, so next time when I come, I’ll use パニγƒ₯ーをください 。 (menyuu o kudasai.) and ___ をください (___ o kudasai) to order hehe
