30 Day Visa Free to China (+ 10 Day Transit Visa)

They just announced that the visa free stays in China have been extended from 15 to now 30 days!

China also added 9 more new countries to the visa free scheme, now a total of 30 countries (pretty much all of the western world, except USA and UK).
Pretty awesome and one can go and come back currently too. So 30 days China, weekend in HK, 30 days China again, weekend in Seoul, 30 days China again etc. if needed.

Some nice new additions to that list.

Great to see South Koreans and Japanese can now benefit also

Still waiting for the UK to make it to the visa free travel list :sob: :sob: hopefully soon!

it used to be 15 days, did I miss the moment it switched to 30??

and yes, the UK is seen as closer to the US I believe and so no great friends of China. Besides they keep saying stupid things like, we must close down all the Confucius Institutes… sigh…

It was implemented on November 30th, great news all round!

Hopefully more to come in 2025 as well. Interest in China is really growing (it’s showing with the search numbers on Google!)

Peru is still not in the list. :frowning:

Hopefully next year we get more additions, @JoelPe

It’s all moving in the right direction.

And now they just extended the transit visa to China (for pretty much all nationalities) to 240h (thats 10 days) visa free entry for anyone transiting through China.

This also applies to US, UK and Peru @JoelPe

Here is the news story from Andreas’ post above.

Great to see this happening. I think it’s easier than pre-COVID times ever was now for people to enter China.
