Messaging teacher if student is late to class

Hiya

I will be late to my upcoming class by 20 min, but I do want to take the last 40min. Is there any way (other than posting here!) to notify the teacher?

Teachers are often in other classes before your class and couldn’t (and shouldn’t) read messages. So there is on purpose no way of doing that because if we create a way to message we also need to make sure the messages are read and replied to and that would be unfair to teachers.
Having said that teachers will wait for 30 minutes, so you will be fine.
Or if there is another student in your class then the class will be taught normally anyways.

@Chloe-Mandarin-HSK_5 - I don’t know if it helps, but I’ve also logged into a class from my phone and stayed on mute / not put camera on, just to send a message at the beginning of a class that I’m delayed. At least then the teacher knows to wait. I’ve also once taken half a class walking down the street in the rain, when I missed my bus… but that’s another topic entirely…!

Yeah, as others have suggested. Sometimes, I log in just to say I will be late or to cancel.
