The PDF that I had tried out seems to have been updated. Now I can copy hanzi as well. Also the new words have pinyin now, which would make it much better to prepare. Thank you!
I will still do some more reviewing before starting HSK 4+, though.

We have not made any changes to the pdfs for HSK4+ recently so I think something changes in your pdf or computer settings.
It works on my computer to copy and paste phrases from the pdfs (I agree, an important functionality).
Great if it works now for you too.
If anyone experiences the same problem I would agree with @Sonja-Mandarin-HSK_3 that it’s probably the device not recognising or using the font we use.
All our fonts are Not Sans (the free ones from Google).
Alternatively it could be some limitations in the pdf program used.
I had this issue before too and i think i decided it was related to opening the pdf in the browser rather than as a pdf seperately. Can’t remember though, as mine all seem to work now (including when I open in browser) - much above my technical abilities
